For the March edition of the German design magazine “novum”, more than 12,500 individual cover versions were created in an elaborate procedure.

This was made possible through a unique collaboration between Studio Marcus Kraft and J.E. Wolfensberger AG – both located in Zurich. Artisanal interventions were directly performed during the printing process. Four different motifs were continuously modified while printing. Through changes in the selection, application and quantity of colour, water splashes and scratches, attractive variations of these geometrical forms were created.

For this kind of realisation, graphic designer Marcus Kraft drew his inspiration from classical lithography, which was also used for an edition of art prints of the cover motif – J.E. Wolfensberger AG also supported this undertaking with word and deed.

A part of these lithographs, which are limited to 50 numbered copies, will be raffled off as part of a competition for readers: Those who take a picture of their personal “novum” copy until March 10, 2017, post it under #novum-magazine and send the link to the editors (verlosung@novumnet.de) will automatically take part in the raffle.
