07.09. Viennese craftsmanship: Woka Lamps
Woka Lamps Vienna stands for timeless design, elegant yet characterized by formal simplicity. The manufacturer achieved worldwide recognition by reproducing lamps according to the original drafts by Wiener Werkstätte, Adolf Loos and other great masters of the 20th century.
Each lamp is handmade and unique, authentically produced with original tools from the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. Special molds and high-quality materials such as silk, opaline glass and hand-cut crystals contribute to the lamps’ simple elegance.
Founder and CEO Wolfgang Karolinsky says that quality comes before quantity at Woka. “We have 20 people working here and that’s enough. We never wanted to be a big company, but rather a company that creates products of the highest quality.”
Woka Lamps also offers antique furniture, works of art and design icons. It has recently worked together with contemporary artists Matteo Thun and André Heller and for various clients such as Louis Vuitton, Four Seasons Hotel or Prada Retail.
